As of October of this past school year I have been hired part-time, teaching art to middle school students in a local school district—HURRAY! Here I am with my new teacher ID. It's kind of a crazy position, teaching in two different schools and 3 days of a six day schedule, so my actual work days fluctuate every week, but I am thrilled to be part of a great art department in a great school system.
With this position I am progressing on my alternate route path as well! I now have a provisional certificate and am enrolled in a provisional teacher program where I am learning tons, and have another group of peers to connect and communicate with. I am swamped with all kinds of work for the program, creating and implementing SGOs, reflecting on my work, observations, meetings with my mentor etc., but I am thrilled to be here! Wish me well.
